Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation are excited to announce that our Sensory Room will officially be in action from Tuesday evening's game against AFC Flyde on 13th August 2019.

The room will be open prior to and during each home game and will be accessible to those who registered for our sensory packs. To access the room, please show your autism awareness pass issued with your pack to the stewards.

The room is accessible inside The Vic from the Smith & Graham Stand, through the rear entrance to the Victoria Lounge. Prior to kick off you can visit via main reception.

It includes items which hopefully will be of use to children with a variety of sensory needs including: a ball pool, trampoline, dark tent, tablets for older children, a variety of lights, drawing equipment and books and games.

We have some very special people that we need to thank in relation to this project:

*Charles Dickens Tool Store for paint donations.

*Mulgrave Carpets for the carpet and Opening Doors (NDC) for the fitting.

*Our NCS Wave 1, group 2 team who have done an outstanding job on decorating the room and raising funds for additional items

*Alison Wombell (Chasing Rainbows) has been full of advice and support in relation to what should be included in the room

Special thanks to Hartlepool United FC as always for their support and allowing us to use the room and Tesco Bags of Help for the funding which allowed us to make this idea a reality.

We would love volunteers to help supervise the room on matchdays so if you are experienced in working with those with sensory needs and would be willing to give your time please contact Sarah on 01429 862595 or email s.rowntree@hartlepoolunited.co.uk
