Ryan Donaldson has insisted that Pools are improving with
every game but says they need to learn lessons from Tuesday night's 2-2 draw
The skipper was left hugely frustrated after Pools were
pegged back by The Coasters having been two goals up thanks to a sensational
double from Gime Toure against his former club. However, Pools allowed Fylde to wrestle back a point by
conceding two goals in the final ten minutes and Donaldson has admitted that it
left a sour taste on a night which had plenty of positives.“I think the overriding emotion is disappointment,” he toldPools TV.
“We have come so close to beating a really good team so it'sdisappointing that we haven't seen it out because I thought we deserved to win.
“They have had quite a lot of the ball but we had a game planand we stuck to it – but we've let ourselves down in the last ten minutes.
“They have might have dominated possession and they are a
good team but we looked dangerous on the break and it worked well for us for 80
minutes.“We're getting better with every game which is a good sign but where we want to get to and the team we want to be, we can't give goals away like that because it's two points we won't get back.
“It's important we're back on home soil on Saturday but it's important to win – it will be a different challenge for us against Bromley so we have to get Tuesday out of our heads.”
