Tim Healy Backing Tommy Miller's Charity Walk

24 April 2019

North East actor Tim Healy has thrown his support behind an annual charity walk being organised by Pools' Chief Scout Tommy Miller to raise funds for Alice House Hospice.

The ‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' star is backing the drive to have as many people as possible involved in a Sponsored Walk, which takes place this coming Sunday in Peterlee.

Several Pools players and staff – including boss Craig Hignett and Ross Turnbull – are set to take part in the three-mile walk to help raise much-needed funds for Alice House Hospice.

“It's a delight for me to be helping such a great local cause,” explained Healy.

“I want to say a big congratulations to Tommy and his team for doing such a great job in organising this event over so many years and I hope it's a great success again this Sunday.

“It's great to see that Hartlepool United are getting involved too so hopefully it will be a lot of fun for everyone taking part and plenty of money can be raised along the way.”

If you're interested in being there then registration will start at 9.30am on Sunday at The Hearts of Oak on Oakerside Drive in Peterlee, with the walk expected to begin at 10am.

Registration and sponsor forms are available now from Alice House Hospice and Peterlee & District Lions Club but for more information call 07970 189 681.
