On Saturday 6th April, we hosted the semi-finals of the Wheels Self Drive half time penalty competition.
23 teams had been whittled down to four, competing for their place in the final on 27th April when HUFC take on Salford.
All four teams have worked hard throughout the season and earned the right to be here so well done to all, as well as to all schools who have competed this season.
Semi-Final 1 - West Park vs St Begas
In a very close match, St Begas won 2-1 on penalties with goals scored by Harry Gleaves and Lucca Wallace. Goalscorer for West Park was Zack Noble.
Semi-Final 2 - Clavering vs St Helens
After both teams had taken their five penalties, the scores were level at 2-2 meaning that the game went to sudden death.
Clavering eventually won 3-2. Goals for Clavering were scored by Arun Bartleson, Toby Mulvihill and Ethan Raper. St Helen’s goalscorers were Reece Hughes and Sonny Wintersgill.
So that’s it, we are down to two final teams.
