There was a special presentation to Pools star Luke James prior to Saturday’s game against Solihull Moors at The Super 6 Stadium.
The front man became the first Pools player to represent England C when he started in their friendly against Wales at Salford City’s Peninsula Stadium last month.
The Club wanted to do something to recognise that achievement and so offered to frame the shirt he wore along with the cap he won as a memento of the night.
Chairman Raj Singh took to the pitch before kick-off at the weekend to personally hand over the gift to James who was given a rapturous reception from supporters.
“That will definitely be going up pride of place in the house somewhere,” James told us.
“It was a special week for me to get involved with the England C set-up and play in the game because I wasn’t sure I would get on given it was the first time I’d been in the squad.
“Saturday was also a great moment for me because my mam and dad, as well as my wife and son were all in the crowd to see the presentation so it was a lovely gesture from the Club to do that.”
