Pools Women’s Team kick-off their North East Regional Women’s Football League season on Sunday when they make the trip to face Castleford White Rose (2pm kick-off).

Craig Devon’s outfit were knocked out of the SSE FA Cup at Bolton Wanderers last weekend but will be hoping to hit back from that and make a positive start to their league campaign.

Having enjoyed confidence-boosting victories over Washington and South Shields in the early stages of the League Cup, Pools will be aiming to bring that form in to Sunday’s away assignment.

The Women’s Team narrowly missed out on promotion last term after finishing third in the NERWFL Premier Division but the ambition will be to force their way in to the top two during 2018/19.

That means they will be intent on making a positive start this weekend against Castleford side who finished second bottom of the table last season.

The game takes place at Castleford Academy on Ferrybridge Road at 2pm on Sunday and we’ll have a full report here on the Official Website on Monday.
