St Joseph's Win Under 11 Girls Tournament

On Tuesday, 23rd October we hosted the first round of the National League Trust Under 11 Girls Tournament at the Sports Domes.

Teams from Throston, St Josephs (Billingham), St Aidans, Pentland, Barnard Grove and St Cuthbert’s all competed in 5 games with the league table finishing as follows:

Throston won 4 drew 1 points 13
St Joseph’s won 3 lost 2 points 9 +9 goal difference
St Aidan’s won 3 lost 2 +3 goal difference
Pentland won 2 lost 3 points 6 0 goal difference
Barnard grove won 2 lost 3 points 6 -7 goal difference
St Cuthbert’s won 1 lost 4 

Scott Loach, Nicky Featherstone and Paddy McLaughlin went along to the afternoon to watch the girls in action before getting photographs taken with all of the teams.

Throston and St Josephs’s then went on to play at The Super 6 Stadium following the Sutton United game on 27th October.

Both teams were missing players due to holidays and the weather conditions were atrocious but the girls played brilliantly and showed some real skill and determination.

The Final finished 3-1 to St Joseph’s - congratulations to our winners.

Throston were coached in the final by HUCSF coach Craig Linsel and St Joseph’s were coached by HUCSF coach Chris Burton and year 6 junior sports leader Lewis Dobson.

St Joseph’s will now go on to represent Hartlepool United in the regional competition with the chance to play at Wembley!
