Ged McNamee has revealed that a groin problem meant that Paddy McLaughlin was withdrawn from the starting eleven against Boreham Wood on Saturday.
The Northern Irishman had been due to start in the game at The Super 6 Stadium but felt discomfort during the warm-up and was replaced by Michael Woods as a precaution.
“Fair play to Paddy, he put his hand up and told us he wasn’t right,” McNamee explained afterwards.
“He felt some pain in his groin so we had to make the change really but I thought Michael Woods came in and was excellent, he showed the other side of his game tackling back and getting on second balls.”
Meanwhile, McNamee confirmed that Peter Kioso was substituted after the second goal due to a problem with his hamstring but stressed that his substitution was strictly precautionary.
