Local vehicle rental business Wheels Self Drive have thrown their support behind the Club’s Community Sports Foundation by sponsoring their half-time penalty competition.
The long-running competition is a much-loved part of the matchday experience at The Super 6 Stadium and this season sees 23 schools from across the region taking pasrt.
That means almost 150 children will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of running on to the pitch in front of the fans and taking a penalty.
The competition began on Saturday and will run throughout the 2018/19 campaign – with the Final due to be staged at half-time in our game against Solihull Moors on Saturday 6th April.
“We’re delighted that Wheels Self Drive have agreed to back us in this way,” explained Community Sports Foundation Manager, Keith Nobbs.
“The penalty competition is a big thing for lots of kids around the town and surrounding area so this funding is helping us to keep that going in 2018/19 so we’re very grateful.”
Wheels Self Drive Director, Karl Barowsky added: “Supporting the local community and particularly youngsters in our town is something we’re very passionate about.
“To be able to support the Penalty Competition is great for us and we hope that the many children that get to take part thoroughly enjoy their experience.”
