Craig Hignett has sent out a rallying cry to supporters as he puts preparations in place for Saturday’s game against Dagenham & Redbridge at The Super 6 Stadium (3pm kick-off).
The Director of Football has assumed temporary control of First Team affair following the departure of boss Matthew Bates on Wednesday afternoon.
Now he says one key factor that can play a huge role during the weekend’s game with an in-form Dagenham side is the positivity coming from the terraces.
Hignett knows exactly what kind of atmosphere can be generated by the Pools fans and he is hoping they can really turn up the volume on Saturday to help the team end a run of six successive defeats.
“These are the times when you find out about everyone at your football club,” Hignett told Pools PlayerHD.
“You find out about the players, you find out about the staff and you find out what kind of characters they are – whether they’re going to fight for you or fold and crumble.
“The fans have their part to play as well; we have some young players who are learning their way in the game and are still in their first season so they need every bit of support we can give them.
“I would urge everyone to get right behind the players on Saturday – let’s all be really positive, let’s all be together and let’s do something to help get the team out of the run we’re in.
“It will only be solved through hard work and being together. It’s a big day on Saturday and a big game for everyone but, having seen the players over the last couple of days, I know they’re looking forward to it.”
