Matthew Bates has moved to complete his first signing as Pools boss with the arrival of defender Myles Anderson.
The Pools boss has beaten off competition from several other clubs to land the powerful 28-year-old who is comfortable playing in the centre of defence or at left-back.
A former Leyton Orient trainee, Anderson won a move to Aberdeen in 2011 and he made his senior debut for The Dons in the SPL before catching the eye of Blackburn Rovers.
After a short stint at Exeter City, the Westminster-born star gained experience abroad when he agreed a move to Italian outfit Monza before spells with Chievo and L’Aquila.
Anderson returned to England with Barrow in October 2016 before moving on to Torquay United the following February, playing against Pools at Plainmoor last season.
A loan move to Chester followed last November and he made that switch permanent in February but became available again at the end of the season and Bates was quick to make his move.
