Pools star Michael Woods has been named as the Supporters' Association Away Player of the Year for 2017/18.

The 28-year-old became the first Pools midfielder to hit double figures since Antony Sweeney in 2011/12 and, astonishingly, eight of Woods’ eleven goals came away from Victoria Park.

His form in front of goal meant he was responsible for over a quarter of the 29 goals Pools scored away from home in the National League last term and that was enough to win him the award.

The Away Player of the Year is decided upon by the Supporters’ Association and Woods was at The Vic on Monday morning to receive the silverware.
