Pools Reserves return to action on Thursday afternoon when they entertain Mansfield Town in the Central League at Victoria Park (2pm kick-off).

Ian McGuckin will once again take charge of the side for the clash with The Stags, with Pools working to gain clearance to play a number of trialists.

The Reserves will be aiming to bounce back from a 4-0 defeat at Morecambe on Tuesday when they line-up at The Vic in their latest outing.

“It was difficult on Tuesday against a very experienced Morecambe side but we want to try and get a better result against Mansfield obviously,” McGuckin told us.

“We’re using the game to have a look at a few players which is always useful at this time of the year so hopefully they can come in and impress.

“It’s another game at The Vic so that’s an added incentive for the lads to go and enjoy it and try to show what they’re capable of.”

Admission to the game is free to Season Ticket holders. Regular admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
