Matthew Bates saw his side make it three wins in succession with a 2-1 victory at Maidstone United this afternoon.
But while the caretaker boss was full of praise for his side, he refused to get carried away and insists there is more work to be done.
“In some ways that was the best of the three,” Bates told Pools PlayerHD after the game.
“Although we probably didn’t play as well as we have in the last couple of games, in terms of desire, sticking together and sticking to our team shape, it was a nice win for us.
“The first goal could have gone either way and we were unlucky not to go a goal up before we scored.
“When we did score though, it was a good goal. Woodsy is really kicking on with his goalscoring and it is very timely too.
“He’s got a bit of a licence to go where he wants and for his first goal, he’s shown his intelligence to follow in on the goalkeeper when Rhys had his shot. I’m a big fan of Woodsy, he deserved his goals.
“It was tense at the end but even after they scored, I always fancied us. I thought we deserved the win for the hard work, grit and determination we showed.
“We have to keep going now, keep working hard and look to win points to climb the table because we just don’t know how close we are to safety yet.”
