A young Pools Reserves line-up will take on Port Vale in the Central League at Victoria Park on Wednesday afternoon (2pm kick-off).
Ian McGuckin will take charge of the youthful team as the Club’s Reserve side look to put the skids under The Valiants who arrive at The Vic sitting top of the pile in the North Division.
With the First Team also in action on Wednesday evening, the onus will fall on a squad made up of Youth Team players and McGuckin wants them to rise to the challenge.
“It’s going to be tough but we’ve got a talented group of young players and they’ve produced some good performances already this season,” he told us.
“I am certain that playing on The Vic will give some of them a lift so they’ll be looking to make the most of that and hopefully put on another good display.”
The only professional involved for the Reserves is Aaron Cunningham who is included among the substitutes as he looks to step up his recovery from an ankle operation.
Entry to The Vic is free for Season Ticket holders, while regular admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
Pools: Stephenson, Boyle, Miller, Bayne, Holliday, Robinson, Orrell, Weirs, Pritchard, Jackson, Travers.
Subs: Lawrence, Cunningham, Short.
