Members of Pools’ 1992/93 giant-killing squad were reunited in the town on Saturday evening for an event which raised over £2,000 for worthy causes.
The Supporters’ Trust organised the well-attended evening at Hartlepool Catholic Club as the stars who knocked Premier League Crystal Palace out of the FA Cup in January 1993 returned to share their memories.
Led by then boss Alan Murray and his assistant Eddie Kyle, the players spoke about the famous Victoria Park occasion which was decided by Andy Saville’s late penalty.
The lads then took the time to field questions from supporters on a whole range of Pools topics, from their careers in the 90s to what they think of the current situation at The Vic.
Profits from the night totalled £2,055 which will be equally shared between the Club’s Community Sports Foundation and the Trust’s fund-raising efforts.
