Goalkeeper Scott Loach is the latest player to tackle our Firsts and Lasts questions - let's see what we can find out about the shot-stopper.

What was the name of your first pet?
It was Mase, a dog. I think it was a Golden Retriever but I was only about six when we had that dog.

What was your first car?
A frog green Ford Fiesta! It was a bad green as well. I only picked it because it was £450. One of the windows didn’t shut properly. But when I was in it with a CD playing I could have been driving a Bentley – I was cruising! Haha!

What was your first holiday abroad?
I went to Spain. Yeah, it would have been Majorca as a kid, when I was probably about 8 or something. I only really remember that there was a diving board at the swimming pool so me and my brothers would mess around on that!

What was the first gig you went to see?
Good question. I have been to loads but I think the first one was Green Day. It was an all-day mini festival in Nottingham. I can’t remember what it was called but Green Day were the headline act. I was in Year 9 at the time, I remember that.

What was the first match you went to see?
It was a Colchester United game at Layer Road, their old stadium. I used to live in that area of the country so I was down there for a Friday night game. I can’t remember who it was against – I want to say Torquay but I’m not sure.

What was the first football shirt you owned?
Manchester United. When I was young I was in to Man United but I think I am even worse now! It was the 1994 one with the laces across the collar. I looked like Cantona when I wore it – and I acted like him too!

When was the first time you realised you might turn pro?
Probably when I was 17 and played for the Reserves at Lincoln and people were there watching. I realised then it was more than just a scholarship. I have always wanted to be a footballer though, even from a very young age.

What was your first match as a pro footballer?
My first senior game was on loan for Morecambe v Stockport on New Year’s Day 2008. But my debut for Watford came in the September and it was the day the ‘ghost goal’ got scored. I remember the ball hit the bar and went out and I put the ball down for a goal kick – the next thing Stephen Hunt was celebrating a goal and it was given!

Who was your first football manager?
Aidy Boothroyd was my first real manager at Watford. He was very good. Aidy was very big on the psychological side of the game too and we had a team full of men. As a young kid coming through the ranks that was a good welcome to the real world.

What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Haha, I actually watched the Kardashians before I went to bed last night! I won’t even deny it, I actually quite like it! It was the wife’s choice originally but I have got right in to it now. I have no shame!

What was the last thing that made you laugh?
Nicky Featherstone when he shaved his beard off! He makes me laugh quite a lot, to be fair – I’m more laughing at him than with them though.

What did you do for your last birthday?
Well, I was on standby because my wife was pregnant with my little lad at the time and she was due so it was a fairly quiet one. He was supposed to be born on my birthday or around that time but he ended up arriving fairly late.

What is the last thing you took a photo of?
It was a picture of my daughter eating ice-cream!

What is the last thing you ate?
It was salmon, rice and broccoli for my lunch which was made by Mrs Loach.

What is the last thing you drank?
I had a cappuccino this morning. I love a coffee with an extra shot.

Who is the last person you spoke to on the phone?
Probably my dad last night. It was just a usual phone call where he’s telling me I am better than De Gea! My dad will literally say he thinks I would save every goal that gets scored, he’s my biggest fan!

What was the last football match you went to (where you weren’t playing?)
Old Trafford. It was Manchester United v West Ham United in the quarter-final of the League Cup last season.

What is the last item of clothing you put on before a match?
There is no set order for me when it comes to the strip, I just try to get ready the best I can. Obviously the gloves go on last.

Who was the last person to text you?
Probably my missus. We talk a lot by text. Nicky Featherstone thinks I have a problem because I like my wife but that’s why I married her, because I like her! Feaths doesn’t like that, I don’t think! Haha!
