Pools have smashed through 500 Season Tickets sold in less than two weeks as the impressive response to our 2018/19 campaign continues.
Last summer it took over a month to hit the same milestone but the 500th ticket for next term was sold on Wednesday lunchtime, just a fortnight after Season Tickets first went on sale.
The brilliant response has been in reaction to the Club’s decision to once again freeze prices for 2018/19, while the introduction of FREE Season Tickets for Under 12s has also been well received.
Long-time Pools fan Peter Humble was the man who took us to the 500 mark when he called in to the Victoria Park Ticket office to buy his ticket for the Cyril Knowles Stand.
The retired business owner took in his first Pools game almost 70 years ago and has been hooked ever since, admitting that he never thought twice about signing up for the new season.
“I have been a Season Ticket holder longer than I can remember and I’ve been coming to The Vic for 67 years,” said Peter, who also collected Season Tickets for grandsons Zac and Charlie, son Ian, son-in-law Darren and family friend Daniel.
“My heroes back then were the likes of Watty Moore, Frank Stamper and Ken Johnson but there have been plenty of other heroes along the way obviously.
“Last season was very disappointing but I think there were too many people thinking it would be easy in the National League and we’d bounce straight back.
“I’m more optimistic for the new season but I just want a more stable club and in terms of a finish, anywhere in the top half would do me next year – but I’ll still come to every game expecting to win!”
Hitting 500 so early after launch means that Pools fans have now snapped up FIVE TIMES as many Season Tickets in the first two weeks of sales as they did last summer.
