Chief Executive Mark Maguire provides the following comprehensive update on the 2018/19 kit and re-opening of the Club Shop.
Firstly I’d like to thank Pools fans for their patience whilst the Club Shop has been closed and for allowing us the breathing space to get things sorted behind the scenes.
It’s obviously been a hectic time off the pitch and a significant amount of the work that we have been doing since May should really have started many months ago.
However, what we have to do is make sure we do things the right way, rather than in a rush so I will take responsibility for the fact that the kit has been a bit slower because there were elements that we weren’t happy with so we asked for them to be re-done.
The result I hope will be kits and products in the Shop which will do the Club proud.
We have so much going on that perhaps it’s worth giving you some dates that we are working to as we relaunch the whole of our retail operation.
Home & Away Kit
We are launching both of our kits at the Open Day on Thursday 26th July.
The first proper look at the kit will be when the players wear it for the photo shoot and we would love as many Pools fans to be there as possible to take part in the “Big Team Photo” and to meet the squad and even take them on in a game of foot darts or something similar…
We are opening our own Online Shop. The idea is to launch a very limited version in time for the kit launch but then a full version to be in place for the start of the season.
Bear with us whilst we constantly update the site in its first few weeks; we’ve had to start many of the designs for clothing and giftware from scratch so they will be introduced as they arrive with us.
Leisure and Giftware
We’ve been working hard to completely redesign items of clothing and giftware, we think you’ll be suitably pleased but please keep an eye out because these will be launched as various collections over the coming weeks.
Club Shop Relocation
The Shop will definitely be moving to the front of the building on Clarence Road next door to the Ticket Office.
We are waiting for architect drawings to be completed before planning the scope of works with a view to moving in to the new Shop, in an ideal world, before Christmas.
In the meantime the Shop will reopen in its existing spot and will stay open until such time as the new place is ready.
There is a huge amount happening on the commercial side too and it is exciting that in many ways we are progressing far more quickly than we could have anticipated.
We have been genuinely humbled by the level of support from fans buying Season Tickets and it is safe to say that we won’t rest until we’ve started to do justice the loyalty that’s been shown.
We will try to provide regular updates as various projects come to fruition but in the meantime we look forward to welcoming everybody on Thursday 26th July.
