The Friends of HUFC 1908 have come to the rescue of groundstaff at The Vic this summer after donating tools to replace those stolen in a recent break-in.
The Club was targeted by thieves back in May when a number of items were taken and left staff without the tools needed for vital renovation work at the stadium.
Upon hearing the news, the Friends donated £300 for replacements and supporter Peter Gooding made a donation of a selection of tools to help with maintenance work.
“We’re really thankful to the Friends for stepping up to help us,” admitted Chief Executive, Mark Maguire.
“The donations brought us completely up to date, meaning the boys can continue their work preparing for the new season.”
In the past the Friends have donated a shelter for fans in the Town End and some picnic-style benches for use at The Vic on matchdays.
