Nottingham Forest have donated the Club a shirt signed by new boss Aitor Karanka as well as four of their European Cup winners, including former Pools star John McGovern.
The City Ground outfit got in touch recently to kindly offer the donation to help the Club raise funds and we’ve now made the signed shirt available on our eBay account.
Forest legend McGovern came through the ranks at Pools before becoming our youngest-ever player when he debuted in the First Team at the tender age of 16.
The Scottish star went on to make 76 senior appearances for the Club and helped the team win their first-ever promotion after Brian Clough had laid the foundations for Gus McLean in 1967/68.
Clough then swooped for his signature following his appointment at Derby County and then also took him to Forest where he was made captain as they won the League and European Cup.
As well as McGovern and former Boro boss Karanka, Forest legends Colin Barrett, Frank Clark and John Robertson have also been signed the shirt, which is a real collector’s item.
This one-off shirt is now available for auction on eBay – click here to get involved in the bidding.
The staff at the Club would like to thank Forest for their generosity.
