Teenage front man Connor Simpson has finalised a move to Championship outfit Preston North End.
The fee paid for the 17-year-old is undisclosed due to Preston's EFL obligations.
The Pools Academy product has completed a medical and agreed terms on a two-and-a-half year professional contract with The Lilywhites after travelling for talks on Thursday.
Simpson made his senior debut for Pools at the end of last season when he came off the bench in our game at Cheltenham Town in April 2017 after impressing for the Club’s Youth Team.
The tall and robust youngster has been in and around the First Team picture again this season and in September his goal against Maidstone United was the first scored for Pools by a player born this century.
Simpson has made excellent progress through the ranks of the Club’s Academy since joining at Under-16 level and staff are proud of the way he has developed.
