Craig Harrison expects another difficult examination this weekend as he prepares his Pools side for the National League trip to Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Pools boss was impressed with The Daggers when the came north for the first meeting of the season at The Vic in September despite Jonathan Franks’ perfectly-executed lob separating the sides.
Harrison knows that John Still’s men are potent in attack and has admitted that a lot of work has gone in this week to ensure the Pools squad know the gameplan as they head to Victoria Road.
“It’s going to be another tough game,” he told Pools PlayerHD.
“In my opinion, Dagenham are probably the best team we have played but we managed to defend really well and then Franksy scored a great goal to win it.
“We’ve done our homework on them; they’ve got three of four lads up front who score lots of goals, they’re direct, powerful, quick and can run in behind.
“We have worked a lot on our defensive shape this week but also looked at how we can best exploit their vulnerabilities.
“We have managed to score four goals in the two games but on the downside we’ve also conceded four so we know we have work to do on the training ground and we’ve been doing it on a daily basis.
“In some ways not having as hectic a Christmas as had been scheduled has helped because that has given us time to get on the training pitch to work on things and also get a few senior players back to fitness.”
