We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of our New Year’s Day game with Gateshead at The Super 6 Stadium (3pm kick-off).
Richard Money will run the rule over the fitness of defender Andrew Davies ahead of Gateshead’s visit after the skipper was forced to sit out Saturday’s draw at Chesterfield.
Peter Kioso was back among the substitutes for the weekend game at The Proact Stadium and could press his claims for a return to the starting eleven on New Year’s Day.
Luke Williams remains out with a knee problem, while Tyrone O’Neill has now returned to Middlesbrough at the end of his loan spell so he won’t be in the Pools squad to face The Tynesiders.
Gateshead boss Steve Watson will hope to have goalkeeper Anysley Pears available once again after he missed Saturday’s draw against FC Halifax Town – former Pools stopper Mark Foden is on standby to deputise once again.
Left-back Scott Barrow came off injured against Pools and is an injury doubt to play, while Tom White remains suspended following his red card on Boxing Day.
Midfield man Greg Olley has been sidelined with injury during the Christmas programme and Watson will again assess his fitness ahead of the journey down the A19.
Striker Luke Armstrong – who scored both goals for Gateshead when the sides met on Boxing Day – won’t play on New Year’s Day after being recalled by parent club Middlesbrough.
