Richard Money has confirmed that Jake Cassidy will return to The Super 6 Stadium in January at the end of his loan spell with Maidstone United.
The front man was allowed to join The Stones on loan back in September and he has gone on to play 14 times, scoring in their midweek FA Trophy replay win over Woking.
However, new Pools boss Money has said that he will welcome Cassidy back in to his squad in the New Year and expect him to fight for his place in the team.
“I tried to sign Jake twice when I was at Cambridge,” he revealed.
“He’s been on loan at Maidstone and we’ve talked about other people but my experience is that you’re much better off staying with the one that you know.
“We know what he is and we know what he does. He’s an honest, battering ram centre-forward who will work for the team and if we can create a few more opportunities and get people around him we hope he’ll hit the ground running.”
Cassidy’s loan spell at The Gallagher Stadium is due to expire following Maidstone’s New Year’s Day game against Dover Athletic.
