A young Pools side will host Ryton & Crawcrook Albion in the Second Round of the Durham County Challenge Cup at The Super 6 Stadium on Wednesday night (7.30pm kick-off).
Young defender James Butler is set for his first run-out in Pools colours since joining the Club on loan from Stock City, while Ryan Catterick, Marcus Dinanga, Conor Newton and Tyrone O’Neill are all expected to be involved.
John Hewitson will lead the side which will also include several Youth Team players as they look to continue their run in a competition after making it to the semi-finals last season and knocking out Sunderland Westend in the First Round this term.
“The last game was really good in terms of getting some of our younger players some experience against senior opposition,” Hewitson explained.
“We’ve also got some of our own senior players who need some game time in their legs so it’s a useful exercise for us.
“We want to try and progress as far as we can and pit our wits against different opposition but tonight will be a tough game for us so hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves.”
The game is being played at The Super 6 Stadium – kick-off is at 7.30pm and admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
