Hartlepool United Ladies return to competitive action this Sunday when they travel to Washington in the First Qualifying Round of the SSE Women’s FA Cup (2.30pm kick-off).
After a positive pre-season under new boss Craig Devon, the Ladies are raring to go when they get their 2018/19 campaign up and running this weekend.
Pools have been boosted by several new signings over the summer with Alisha Smith adding the midfield and attacking options after making a switch from Newcastle United.
Pacey winger Andrea Carillo has joined after moving to the country from Spain, goalkeeper Amy Campbell has signed up and utility players Kate Hampson and Becki Carter have also arrived.
The Ladies finished third in the North East Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division last term and will hope to build on that by challenging for promotion once again this season.
However, it’s the FA Cup with takes the focus for them on the opening weekend and Devon and his players will be aiming to put together a good run in the prestigious competition.
Sunday’s game will take place at Washington’s Stephenson Road and kicks-off at 2pm.
