Rugby, Dancing & Yoga With Our Golden Games Project

29 August 2018

Our Golden Games project, is funded by the Enriching Later Life fund managed by County Durham Community Foundation.

Following last week’s appeal, we are delighted to confirm a number of free sporting sessions which are being held in the town.

On Monday nights commencing 10th September our friends at Hartlepool B.B.O.B. Rugby Football Club are hosting an over 50s tag rugby session from 7pm-8pm.

Whether you have never played before or thought you had hung up your boots for good this is the ideal opportunity to socialise and get active.

No specialist equipment is needed – just sportswear and trainers/boots. The address is:

Old Friarage
Moor Terrace
TS24 0PQ

On Friday mornings at 11am, the Centre For Yoga and Wellbeing is holding a weekly over 60s yoga class. This will commence from Friday 7th September.

Yoga is an ideal way to not only improve your physical but also mental and spiritual wellbeing by stretching the body and relaxing the mind.

The centre is based at: First Floor, 64-74 Park Road, Hartlepool, TS26 9HU

Finally, on the first Friday of each month we will be hosting a Latin in Line dance class for the over 60s.

This will take place in the Centenary Suite at The Super 6 Stadium between 2pm-3pm and commences on Friday, 7th September.

The classes will be run by JLM School of Dance. As the class is Latin in Line you don’t need a partner and this will be a great way to make friends, keep active and have fun.

Don’t worry if you have never danced before or have two left feet as Jemma is a wonderful teacher and the lessons will be tailored to suit the ability of the participants.

We will be launching more social activities in upcoming weeks so keep an eye on the website and social media.

For more information on any of these classes please contact Sarah Rowntree on 01429 862595 or email
