Pools supporters in America have once again bought two Season Tickets for the new campaign to allow pupils from Hartlepool Virtual School to attend games at The Super 6 Stadium.
The USA Pools are a New York based supporters group who were formed in 2014 and have a steadily-rising membership of people who come together on matchdays to listen to the action.
As well as lending their support from across the pond, USA Pools have stumped up the cash to buy tickets for every game which are then donated to Hartlepool Borough Council’s Virtual School.
That means that youngsters who may not otherwise get the opportunity to watch Pools play can now come along and join us at The Super 6 Stadium throughout the campaign.
“The USA Pools are thrilled to continue our partnership with Hartlepool United FC in providing two tickets to every home game to youngsters from the Virtual School,” explained Pat Finley, one of the founder members of the group.
“We’ve been working with Hartlepool United on this for the past few years now and nothing makes us happier than being able to provide access to Pools for these local children.”
The Virtual School is a Council initiative which aims to promote inclusion and improve the life chances of Hartlepool’s vulnerable learners by working closely with schools from across the town, children, young people and their families.
The Club has formed a special link with the Virtual School, hosting a series of events including a Christmas party thrown for delighted children by former boss Craig Harrison and his wife Danielle last year.
This is now the third season in succession that the USA Pools have snapped up two Season Tickets to donate to the Virtual School and they’re delighted to continue the initiative in to 2018/19.
Lucy Cumming, who oversees the Virtual School, commented: "We are delighted that Hartlepool United and USA Pools have provided tickets which we can use as a reward for behaviour, attendance and achievement.
"We are fortunate enough to be given them in previous years too which was extremely beneficial for our students, it provided them with a motive to strive towards excellence and improve their attitude to learning and attendance as they were getting a great experience from it.
"The tickets provide our children with opportunity to feel part of the wider community and a sense of belonging, as well as a good afternoon out - thank you, USA Pools!"
Finley added: “We’ve said time and time again that the supporters are the beating heart of the Club.
“If we can’t be there week in and week out, we couldn’t be prouder than to have these young supporters singing for us.
“Sing and cheer loudly so we can hear you all the way over in New York!”
