Matthew Bates will once again be without Andrew Davies for Saturday’s fixture with Maidenhead as the defender continues to recover from an ankle injury.

The skipper has been for a scan on his left ankle and must now visit a specialist for analysis of the results before it will be revealed how long he will remain sidelined.

The Pools boss has no new injury concerns ahead of the outing but must decide whether to make any changes to his starting eleven following the long midweek trip to Braintree Town.

Maidenhead handed a debut to new signing Chinua Cole during their midweek defeat to Wrexham, whilst fellow new recruit Ryheem Sheckleford is pushing for a start after coming off the bench.

Boss Alan Devonshire had been forced in to the transfer market for the pair earlier this week with defender Rene Steer sidelined through injury and Max Kilman completing a move to Wolves.
