We bring you a full and in-depth preview of the action ahead of Saturday's game at The Super 6 Stadium.

Pools v Ebbsfleet United
National League
Saturday 11th
August 2018, 3pm
The Super 6 Stadium

In Opposition
Ebbsfleet United enjoyed themselves during their first season back in the National League last term and came close to securing a second successive promotion.

The Fleet won their place in the fifth tier with Promotion Final glory in 2016/17 but quickly emerged as one of the dark horses last season, finishing fifth and only falling to Tranmere Rovers in the play-off semi-final.

Boss Daryl McMahon promotes a sense of unity across the entire club at Stonebridge Road and that togetherness is transmitted on to the pitch where Ebbsfleet have become a force to be reckoned with.

No side at our level won more games away from home than the ten Ebbsfleet managed last term and they’re coming in to the weekend on the back of a creditable point at Leyton Orient so Pools will know they face a difficult test.

Star Player
Danny Kedwell remains the focal point of The Fleet attack and he is sure to be a handful if he’s on the pitch at The Super 6 Stadium this weekend.

Despite now reaching the age of 35, the front man continues to deliver a regular supply of goals and his strike rate was a huge factor in Ebbsfleet’s promotion in 2016/17 and their play-off surge last term.

He was on target against Pools in their 3-0 win at Stonebridge Road back in November and will need to be well-marshalled on Saturday if Matthew Bates’ men want to take three points.

Head To Head
Saturday’s game will be on the third competitive meeting between the two clubs but Ebbsfleet United have certainly enjoyed the previous two.

The Fleet completed a National League double over Pools last season, running out 3-0 winners at Stonebridge Road in November before earning a 1-0 victory in the North-East in February.

Referee
It’s a third visit to The Super 6 Stadium for Marc Edwards this weekend when he’s on the whistle for our encounter with Ebbsfleet United.

Last term he was here for our 2-1 defeat to Eastleigh in September before presiding over our win against Bromley in March.

Edwards is now moving in to his second season on the National League’s list of referees and was in action on Tuesday night when he watched Wrexham and AFC Fylde play out a goalless draw.
