In the first of a two-part interview with Pools PlayerHD, new Chairman Raj Singh has outlined his vision for the future of Hartlepool United.
After spending the best part of three months working to get his takeover at Victoria Park across the line, Singh is not in the mood to waste any time as he looks to reshape the Club for a new era.
Already confirmed are the additions of David Arthur and Ian Scobbie to the Board, who will work alongside Singh, President Jeff Stelling and Director of Football Craig Hignett.
Now Singh is determined to arrest the slide suffered by the Club in recent years and begin to bring back the pride to supporters at The Vic.
“This is a Club with a lot of history and hopefully there are exciting times ahead,” Singh told Pools PlayerHD.
“I always look out for local teams and that was an attraction for me. It’s been well-documented that the Club has been well supported through very hard times in the last couple of years.
“Short-term targets have to be to stabilise the Club because it’s been very unstable for two, three, even four years so that’s the vision and then we can build slowly.
“At the same time, I am a very ambitious guy and I want this Club to be back in the League and finishing as high as we can so that is the longer term aim.
“I think people have seen Craig Hignett’s appointment as a positive step and there are other people coming on board that will help run the Club, and run it properly without any hidden agendas.”
The first part of this interview also sees the new Chairman discuss the timeframe he’s working on in terms of appointing a new First Team Manager.
