Vacancy: U8 – U12 Lead Foundation Coach

The Club are looking to recruit an Under 8 – Under 12 Lead Foundation Coach to work within the Academy.

Candidates must hold their UEFA A Licence and hold, or be working towards, their Advanced Youth Award. They must also have their Basic First Aid for Sport qualification.

The full-time role would involve working within the Club’s busy Academy, and the position would be based at Victoria Park.

Scope of Work

TITLE: Under 8 – Under 12 Lead Foundation Coach

RESPONSIBLE TO: Academy Manager

Qualifications:-

• Candidates must hold UEFA A Licence and hold or working towards completing Advanced Youth Award, hold Basic First Aid for Sport Qualification.

Have experience of using computer software would be advantageous including the Premier League Performance Management Application (PMA)

Responsibilities (subject to change)

Strategic Planning: -

Sitting on the Football Club’s Academy Management Team.

Monitoring the Foundation Phase (U8-U12) programmes within the Academy and Development Centres.

Attending Football League meetings on behalf of the Football Club if necessary.

Implement and ensure the Coaching Programme is adhered to in the Foundation Phase at Academy Level and below – providing feedback to coaches in order to raise the standard across the youth department.

Liaising with Academy Manager on a regular basis to ensure that the Club vision is adhered to throughout the Foundation Phase.

Ensuring the player review process is implemented by all part-time coaching staff every six weeks in the Academy Programme and type reports.

Being available as the first point of call with player/parent issues in the Foundation Phase – and relaying any decisions to the Academy Manager.

Arrange Foundation Phase staff meetings to be held every four weeks with an agenda and minutes of meetings provided.

Maintain detailed recruitment and player detail records and discuss these at Academy Management Team meetings. Ensuring copies are sent through to the Academy Manager on a monthly basis.

Coaching (subject to change as and when advised by HUFC):

Coach the U8-U12 Academy age groups once per week each, with responsibility for the development of players in this age bracket.

Oversee the social & holistic development of the Foundation Phase players.

Monitoring playing time and ensuring all relevant U8-U12 paperwork is completed by coaches.

Assist with in service training for all staff of the Football Club when required – and running separate in-service training dates for staff employed in the Pre-Academy phase.

Develop an in depth knowledge of all players in the Foundation Phase Department and their strengths & weaknesses.

Coach and mentor coaches in the Pre-Academy Programme to implement the Pre-Academy syllabus at each mini-shots development centre.

Advise the Academy Manager/and/or the Club Secretary immediately of any issues.

Hold a full UK driving licence and have use of a vehicle.

Have a valid FA CRC/DBS Disclosure.
