Pools Youth Team are back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they make the trip to face Burton Albion at St George’s Park in the Youth Alliance League (2pm kick-off).
Ian McGuckin’s youngsters have been beaten by late goals in each of their last three outings despite strong performances so will be hoping for a change in fortune against The Brewers.
Pools will be hoping they can get back to winning ways and avenge the 2-0 defeat they suffered when Albion made the trip to the north-east back in October.
“We’ve been performing well recently but not getting the results we’ve deserved,” McGuckin told us.
“There have been some tough lessons learned with the late goals but we’ve been pleased with the way the lads have been playing overall so hopefully we’ll get a result to match that today.
“The games continue to come thick and fast so we’re rotating things with the Youth Team and Under 16s but we’re still confident we can get another good display.”
Liam Pritchard returns to the squad for the first time against Burton after he recovered from a virus which ruled him out in recent weeks.
Pools: Stephenson, Holliday, Miller, Owen, Cooper, Bayne, Boyle, Orrell, Weirs, Robinson, Jackson.
