We turn our attentions to the weekend with and full and in-depth preview of Saturday's game at Victoria Park.
Hartlepool United v Solihull Moors
Vanarama National League
Saturday 7th April 2018, 3pm
Solihull Moors are going in to the season run-in with real confidence that they can pull themselves clear of the National League’s bottom four on the back of a solid run of recent form.
Mark Yates has made a real difference since arriving to steady the ship in November following Richard Money’s time at the helm lasted just 26 days.
The former Cheltenham Town boss has used all of his experience to drive improved performances from the West Midlands outfit and, impressively, they’re still unbeaten at home during his tenure.
While they remain fourth-bottom ahead of the weekend, a five-game unbeaten run has helped move them level on points with Barrow and just three points behind struggling Woking.
After Saturday’s game, The Moors play three of their final four games on home soil and they will hope that gives them the platform to clamber clear of danger and extend their stay in the top tier of non-league football in to a third season.
One To Watch
Solihull Moors fans were delighted when Jamey Osborne completed a permanent return to Damson Park in January following a month on loan from Grimsby Town.
The midfielder brings a strong and physical presence to The Moors’ engine room and his pace and clever footwork also make him a threat going forward.
Born in Solihull, Osborne was on the books at the club in 2016/17 before his move to Blundell Park but his return in the New Year has helped boost The Moors’ bid for survival.

Head To Head
Saturday’s game will be only the second competitive meeting between the two clubs following Pools’ 2-1 win at Damson Park in October courtesy of goals from Rhys Oates and Jonathan Franks.
Joe Johnson will preside over his fifth Pools game of the current campaign when he’s the man in the middle for Saturday’s meeting with Solihull Moors.
The official is now in to his third season on the National League list of referees and first took charge of Pools for our 1-1 draw at Macclesfield Town in August.
Johnson was also on the whistle for our 0-0 draw at Wrexham in September as well as our 4-0 thumping of FC Halifax Town in November and our 2-2 draw with Gateshead on New Year’s Day.
His most recent appointment was at Aldersot Town last month when he oversaw their 2-0 win over Boreham Wood.
Pools legend Brian Honour will join Mark Simpson in the Victoria Park press box to provide live commentary for Pools PlayerHD subscribers all over the world.
The duo will be on-air from The Vic from 2.50pm on Saturday so if you can’t get along to the game, make sure you join the lads to stay right up to date.
Tickets for the game are on sale now both online and from the Club’s Ticket Office.
Fans will be able to buy tickets on the day of the game from the Main Ticket Office on Clarence Road or from our two Matchday Ticket Offices.
There will be no cash turnstiles for Pools fans but we have made available a method by which supporters can buy tickets on their cards directly at the gate.
