Young Pools front man Connor Simpson was presented with a shirt signed by all of his team-mates after making his full senior debut for the Club.
The 17-year-old became the first player born this century to score for Pools when he nodded a brilliant third goal in our win over Maidstone United earlier this month.
To mark his achievement, Academy Manager John Hewitson and Youth Team boss Ian McGuckin presented Simpson with a framed shirt prior to Saturday’s game against Eastleigh.
“It was Ian McGuckin who spotted the potential in him when he first came to the Club,” explained Hewitson.
“I remember he scored a goal for the Youth Team away at Port Vale in the cup and ever since then he’s just seemed to kick on and gain confidence in his own ability.
“I think he’s starting to believe in the potential he has and all the opportunities with the First Team that are coming his way are thoroughly deserved because he’s worked so hard to get there.”
