Harrison Calls For More Of The Same

Craig Harrison has told his players they must show all the same attributes that have seen them prosper in recent games when they make the trip to Wrexham on Tuesday night.

The Pools boss has been thrilled with a dramatic upturn in form which has seen his side celebrate three successive wins, including the weekend’s toppling of league-leaders Dagenham & Redbridge.

It’s a run which has moved Pools back within touching distance of the top seven in the National League table with another two tough assignments to come this week.

With fourth-placed Leyton Orient lying in wait on Saturday, Harrison says the whole focus must be on the midweek clash with second-placed Wrexham who are four unbeaten going in to the game.

“We can’t wait,” insisted Harrison.

“The lads have been excellent. It was tough on Saturday; Dagenham are up there and they were unbeaten in eight games so it was always going to be difficult.

“It will be the same at Wrexham because they’ve not lost in four games and haven’t conceded a goal in that time so their confidence will be high.

“They’re a club I am very familiar with from living in that area for the last 12 years and I know one of their coaches in Carl Darlington really well as he’s been my assistant on and off for seven years so it will be an interesting one.

“We have to make sure the performance levels are as high as possible and go in to the game doing all the same things have been doing well recently.

“The players have to work hard and show the same commitment levels. As I’ve said before, we have the quality but the key is to stay in the game, be aggressive, organised and hard to beat.

“We’ve scored quite a lot of second half goals in recent games so that shows that if we do the hard work, the quality we have can come through and that’s what we have to try and do again.”
