It was all smiles for John Chapman and his wife Lorraine this week as they picked up their £500 jackpot win on Pools Goldline Lottery.
The couple from the Clavering area of town were thrilled to call in to Victoria Park to collect their winnings and they now plan to treat the family with some of the cash.
John is a Season Ticket holder in the Cyril Knowles Stand and his affinity with the Club stretches as far back at the 1960s when he was a ball boy at The Vic.
“I have been playing the Goldline Lottery since it started – it’s just one of my ways of putting something back in to the Club,” said John, a retired dock worker.
“My grandson Tony got me back in to supporting the Club a few years ago and I like giving something back – we’re members of the Corner Flag too and go in there before games to see the people there.
“I couldn’t believe it when Lorraine told me we’d won £500 – we’ve won a tenner before but nothing like this so we’re delighted obviously.
“There are lots of different things we’d like to spend the money on but we’ll try and spoil our family – and I might restart my swimming membership at the leisure centre!”
Playing the Goldline Lottery costs just £1 a week but it’s a great way of helping the Club because 70p of your £1 will go directly in to our Youth Development Fund.
There are daily and weekly prizes up for grabs too so you could follow in John and Lorraine’s footsteps and strike it lucky while backing Pools at the same time!
