Craig Harrison has called on his players to produce the same battling qualities they did in victory at Guiseley when they return to home soil to host Maidstone United on Saturday.

The Pools boss was delighted with the gritty and determined nature of Monday’s 1-0 triumph at Nethermoor Park and doesn’t want to the see the standard slip this weekend.

Harrison has overseen a positive week on the training ground in preparation for the visit of The Stones and has told the squad they must do all the basics right once more to send the crowd home happy.

“I’ve got belief in what we’re doing and I’ve got belief in what we’ve got,” he told Pools PlayerHD.

“It’s just a matter of being harder to score against, stay in the game for longer and then we’ll get a chance to show our quality.

“We’ve definitely got that quality but first and foremost we have to be aggressive, win second balls, win tackles and be positive – the rest will take care of itself.

“It has been frustrating but I will feel a lot better if we can perform again on Saturday and get another win for the loyal fans who have come in to The Vic and not seen us at our best.

“We’re looking forward to playing at home so the message from me to the players is let’s go again.”

Tickets for Saturday's game are just £5 for adults and £1 for Under-16s - click here for more information.
