Craig Harrison paid tribute to the team spirit in the Pools dressing room as they weathered a first half storm at Torquay United before going on to claim all three points.
The Pools boss was delighted with the victory, with both goals coming during a more assured second half display at Plainmoor.
“The first half hour was tricky to say the least,” admitted Harrison when speaking to Pools PlayerHD after the game.
“Torquay got out of the blocks very quickly and put us under a lot of pressure after their good win at Ebbsfleet in midweek.
“We rode the storm and got in at half-time, made a couple of little changes and the lads responded fantastically well in the second half, really got at them and it was a great performance.
“We took the sting out of them and went out and played our game in the second half, and we could probably have won by more in the end.
“The one thing we have got is great team spirit. When things aren’t going well we don’t point fingers, we get closer together and the second half is a good example of that – we came out like a different team.
“The fans were outstanding again. To travel all this way down here is unbelievable and it’s great to be able to send them home happy.”
