Pools Reserves are in action at Victoria Park on Wednesday night as they host Hebburn Town in the Durham County Challenge Cup (7.30pm kick-off).

Matthew Bates will take charge of the team and has named a line-up which includes a mix of youth and experience for the First Round tie.

Luke George will get some minutes under his belt after recently returning from an injury lay-off while there is also the chance for Scott Harrison and Jack Munns to get some time on the pitch.

Youth Team players Jacob Own, Jon Weirs and Connor Simpson are also set for starts against the Ebac Northern League Division Two outfit at The Vic tonight.

“There are a few of the lads who haven’t played for a while but are chomping at the bit to both get some fitness and also impress the Manager,” explained Bates.

“As well as giving them some game time, it’s also a great opportunity for the younger players to see where they are in terms of their development.

“It will be a good test for us because I would expect Hebburn to name a strong team because this is an important competition.”

The game at The Vic kicks-off at 7.30pm and admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.

Pools: Catterick, Richardson, Owen, Harrison, Adams, George, Hawkes, Munns, Weirs, Simpson, Travers.
