We look ahead to Saturday's action with a full and in-depth preview of our first-ever trip to Damson Park.

Solihull Moors v Hartlepool United
Vanarama National League
Saturday 7th 2017, 3pm
Damson Park

In Opposition
Richard Money has been appointed as the new boss of Solihull Moors in time to take charge for Pools’ visit to Damson Park this weekend.

The former Walsall, Luton Town and Cambridge United chief comes in to replace Liam McDonald who paid the price for a poor start to the new campaign when he left the Club on Wednesday.

The Moors have won just twice in their 14 games so far and a sequence of five defeats in the last six has left them sitting second-bottom in the National League table.

Injury to summer signing Luke Benbow certainly hasn’t helped the situation; the front man has made only four appearances after scoring 39 times for Stourbridge in the Northern Premier League last term.

However, now they’ve got the experience of Money in place at the helm, Moors fans will be hoping their side can drive forward and try to top last season’s 16th place finish.

One To Watch
Darren Carter’s experience in the engine room is going to be key for Solihull Moors as they look to plot a route away from trouble at the wrong end of the National League table.

The former Sunderland, West Brom and Preston midfielder joined the club during the summer following his release from Forest Green and he’s been a starter in every game so far.

As well as that, Carter has helped himself to four goals in the process including one in their midweek defeat to Ebbsleet United at Damson Park.

Still only 33, Carter’s talent should not be ignored by Pools this weekend and if they can ensure that he doesn’t stamp any authority on the game then it will take them a long way towards three points.

Head To Head
Solihull Moors are another of the sides which Pools have never before played against so this weekend’s game will represent a first.

Referee
Matthew Donohue is the latest referee to get a very first Pools game under his belt this weekend when he’s the man in the middle for our trip to Solihull Moors.

Another in a band of new officials promoted to the National League list this season, Donohue has taken charge of four fixtures so far in 2017/18.

His most recent appointment came a couple of weekends ago when he was on the whistle for Chester’s 2-0 win over Maidenhead United at The Deva Stadium.
