Victoria Park is to host a Christmas Market and Community Carol Concert in December.
The day of events will take place on Sunday 10th December 2017, with the mini Christmas Market being held around the stadium in the afternoon before the Carol Concert takes place inside the ground in the early evening.
Chairwoman Pam Duxbury is keen for the Carol Concert to involve as many community groups as possible and has called on local choirs to get involved:
“I hope to fill the stadium with as many community groups, schools, uniformed groups as possible and lots and lots of choirs for some festive singing.
“I would like to call on anyone that may be interested in nominating their school to be involved; children’s uniformed groups – Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies and Guides; Adult Choirs; Church Choirs to help us pack out Victoria Park and put on a community event to be proud of.
“I am very passionate about making the football accessible to all, but to use it as a resource to bring together the people of Hartlepool. I can’t think of a better way than opening up the stadium for everyone to come together, sing together and celebrate the town and each other.
“We will be running a foodbank collection on the day and cash collections for Alice House Hospice and our own Community Sports Foundation. The number of initiatives that are being run through HUCSF have increased dramatically and with many more in the pipeline, we want to secure funding to enable us to pay for more staff in the charity to facilitate an increase in the programmes that we can run through the football club.”
If you would like to get involved in either the Carol Concert or you would like to run a stall at the market, please contact Emma Wilkinson at the Club.
