Craig Harrison was left frustrated by his side’s lack of consistency as they were on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat at Ebbsfleet United on Saturday.
The Pools boss was left perplexed after the same side which thrashed FC Halifax Town in midweek were beaten in Kent to drop to 13th in the National League table.
“It’s frustrating because we’ve gone from playing really well on Tuesday to giving three poor goals away and looking nowhere near what we were,” Harrison told Pools PlayerHD.
“It’s about consistency and we’ve not had that this week. We’ve had a poor performance, an outstanding performance and then an average performance and that’s not good enough by our standards.
“We’ve got in to some good areas and not picked the final pass again but you can’t give away poor goals – that’s the first time we’ve had three put past us in the league and it’s not good enough.
“We’re learning from each other. As much as we’re five months in to the job it’s still in its infancy but that’s not an excuse – we’ve had one good performance out of three and that’s not going to get us where we want to be.
“We need to remember this game and this week because it’s been one extreme to another and we need to try and find a level of consistency.”
