Hartlepool United Ladies return to action on Sunday when they make the trip to face Ryton and Crawcrook Albion Tynedale Ladies at Kingsley Park (2pm kick-off).
It marks the end of a frustrating spell without a game for Andy Stuart’s side, who thrashed York City 5-2 last time out to clinch their first victory since being promoted to the Premier Division of the North East Regional Women’s Football League.
However, that was at the beginning of November and they’ve been without a league game since then so will be chomping at the bit when they travel to Northumberland this weekend.
Pools will have their work cut out against a Tynedale outfit who have won four of their seven games in the Premier Division so far this season.
Stuart’s Ladies are in seventh spot, three places and eight points behind their hosts but they do have three games in hand and they’ll be hoping Sunday can be the first step towards closing the gap.
The Ladies were given a timely boost ahead of the game when they were named Sports Team of the Year at the Best of Hartlepool Awards on Tuesday evening.
We’ll have a report and reaction from the game here on the Official Website on Monday.
