Craig Harrison has urged everyone connected with the Club to keep on pushing to improve and build momentum as he takes his team to Ebbsfleet United this weekend.
The Pools boss was delighted with the way his players recovered from the disappointment of defeat to Aldershot Town to thump FC Halifax Town on Tuesday night.
It was a victory which moved Pools back within touching distance of a play-off spot and consolidated the run of form over the last fifteen games which can only be bettered by Wrexham.
Now Harrison is encouraging the players to shift up another gear and show that they can be challenging right at the top of the National League in the coming weeks and months.
“The players reacted the way I expected and knew they could on Tuesday so it’s just a case of keeping it going and asking if we can do it again on Saturday,” Harrison told Pools PlayerHD.
“Whether it’s home or away, we’ve set a tempo and a standard so now it’s all about how many times we can do that.
“At any level of football consistency is key, the best team and the best players are the most consistent ones so if we can crack that we will be right back up there.
“Don’t get me wrong, we didn’t start the season well and we’ve had a couple of blips but if the league started after the AFC Fylde game then we’d be second in the table from the 15 games so we’re in reasonable long-term form.
“Yes, we want to be better, we can be better and we strive every day to be better. We need to push each other and not just be happy but we’re getting there and if we can keep performing like we did in midweek then we’ll be right up there.”
