Craig Harrison and a trio of his players made a surprise visit to see young Pools fan Adam Davison in hospital on Wednesday to help lift his spirits as he undergoes treatment for cancer.
The 19-year-old Season Ticket holder began treatment at The Northern Centre for Cancer Care last week and although he managed to get to Saturday’s game against Aldershot Town, he missed Tuesday’s 4-0 thrashing of FC Halifax Town.
However, Pools boss Harrison, along with Nicky Deverdics, Carl Magnay and Michael Woods called in to see him on Wednesday afternoon and delivered a DVD of Tuesday night’s game, as well as a Match Programme and a copy of Football Manager 2018.
Skipper Magnay also brought along one of his match-worn shirts from last season to give to Adam, which he got signed by the players during the visit.
“Obviously Adam is going through a really tough time and all we can do is offer our support,” explained Harrison.
“Hopefully our visit brightened up his day a little bit but it’s the least we can do really and we’re here to support him fully.
“I hope he gets the chance to watch the DVD of Tuesday night’s game and it can put a smile on his face because these small things can hopefully make a bit of a difference to a loyal Hartlepool fan.”
