Boreham Wood v Hartlepool United
Vanarama National League
Saturday 11th November 2017, 3pm
Meadow Park

In Opposition
Boreham Wood are one of four sides – including Pools – to be sitting in the middle ground of the National League table on 27 points.

The Hertfordshire outfit are currently a couple of places higher than Craig Harrison’s men on goal difference but a win on Saturday could make a huge difference to both sides.

Luke Garrard’s team were on of the headline-makers on FA Cup First Round day when they defeated League One side Blackpool on home turf and that will no doubt have boosted confidence ahead of Saturday.

The Wood are undefeated in their last eight games in all competitions but have only one won of their last four home league fixtures so will be hoping the Blackpool victory can be a catalyst for some improved form on their own patch.

One To Watch
Bruno Andrade has hit the ground running for Boreham Wood this season and with nine goals to his name already this term he is just one short of matching his haul for the whole of 2016/17.

The Portuguese front man landed at Meadow Park last summer following his release by Queens Park Rangers though he did have senior experience from loan spells at Aldershot, Wycombe Wanderers, Stevenage and Woking.

He enjoyed a real purple patch in the opening month of the new campaign when he hit the net in five consecutive games and he managed to score in three in a row last month too.

Still only 24, Andrade is emerging as a key man for Boreham Wood this term and if Pools can keep a lid on him this weekend it will go a long way to helping them return home with a positive result.

Head To Head
This Saturday’s game will be the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.

Referee
Simeon Lucas will take charge of his second Pools game this weekend when he’s on the whistle for our trip to Boreham Wood.

The official previously oversaw us in action against AFC Fylde at The Vic back in August though Pools will be hoping to put on a better show for him this time around.

Lucas has refereed seven games in the National League so far this season and his most recent appointment came at Barrow for their 3-1 win over Aldershot Town at the end of last month.
