Craig Harrison was left to rue his side’s poor start in today’s FA Cup match at Morecambe.
The hosts started strongly and took the lead after just four minutes of the game and Pools were unable to find their way back into a game that Morecambe went on to win 3-0.
“The first seven minutes lost us the game because after that we were always chasing,” Harrison told Pools PlayerHD after the game.
“I talk about it all the time but if we come in here at 0-0 at half time, I think we go and win the game. It changes the whole dynamic of the game.
“We started very poorly, it was very disappointing. I looked at the clock after seven minutes and the sting was out of the game after that.
“Then we’re pushing for an equaliser, we have to, it’s a cup game and it’s all a bit disjointed. It’s the first goal that killed us and I think the rest of the game was close.
“I’ve said to the boys in there, whatever is done is done but I still want to watch the game to look at it again.
“I won’t be cliché and talk about concentrating on the league because I wanted to win this game, we all did.”
The Manager reserved his main praise of the day for the travelling Pools fans. Over 800 supporters made the trip and they backed the team all the way, singing right up to the final whistle,
“The massive bonus today and all the players acknowledge it massively is if we can’t get ourselves ready to go to Boreham Wood next week and get 3 points for those fans who came today then there is something wrong.
“Because they were absolutely outstanding. You wouldn’t have known who the home fans were today or who was winning, they were probably louder than they’ve ever been.”
