Pools are in for a lot of travelling during the 2017/18 season with over 10,000 miles to be covered in completing our fixtures now that the National League line-up is finalised.
The figure is marginally up on 2016/17 when the Club travelled almost 10,014 miles in round trips to complete league fixtures in comparison to the 10,099 that is on the agenda next term.
Torquay United tops the lot for journey time with some 365.2 miles between the two clubs, while it’s 324 miles to Dover Athletic and 303.6 miles for Eastleigh.
The shortest trip is to The International Stadium when we will face Gateshead for the first time in competitive action since February 1960 – that’s just 28.9 miles up the road from Pools.
In total, Pools will travel 10,099.2 miles in round trips to complete their National League games, though there is obviously the potential for further travel in cup competitions too.
There will also be plenty of new stadiums and opponents to tick off over the course of the campaign – there are no fewer than 11 teams in the 2017/18 National League that we have not played before.
